No Two Properties Alike

Designed to the property,
not the city name.

A wooded hillside in Brentwood, a formal lawn in Belle Meade, a lakefront descent in Hendersonville, and a horse farm outside Columbia each ask for a different hand — different grade, different trees, different sightlines. Light TN designs to the property in front of us, not to a template that gets the city name swapped in.

We work from a studio in Burns, west of Nashville, and come to you. Daryl Bentfield walks each property himself for the on-site assessment, so the design is drawn on the land — among the actual trees, the real grade, and the architecture you live with. That has held across more than 500 projects completed throughout the region since 2020.

The Same Standard, Every City

The conditions change.
The discipline doesn't.

What travels from city to city is not the copy on a page — it is the process. You approve a photorealistic rendering of your property at night before any fixture goes in the ground. Installation meets licensed contractor CE-D: 76580 standards.

On Middle Tennessee's heavy clay, we bury low-voltage cable trenchless with the L2 Line Layer — the only machine of its kind in the Nashville market — so an established lawn stays whole. Then we return after dark to aim every fixture on the grade.

Why Homeowners Across Middle Tennessee Choose Light TN

One designer,
start to finish.

One Designer, Start to Finish

The person who walks your property is the person who aims the lights after dark — in any city we serve.

Settled Before We Dig

A rendering of the finished result, approved first, so the system is decided on screen rather than discovered in the yard.

An Established Lawn Stays Intact

Trenchless wire burial with the L2 Line Layer reaches a large or sloped lot without cutting the turf open.

A Studio That Stays

Family-owned, with lifetime fixture warranties, a one-year workmanship warranty, and a failure rate under 1% a year. Unhappy? You don't pay.

FAQ

Serving Middle Tennessee,
answered.

What areas of Middle Tennessee does Light TN serve?

Light TN serves Middle Tennessee from its studio in Burns, centered on Davidson and Williamson Counties and reaching Sumner, Wilson, Rutherford, Maury, Montgomery, and Putnam Counties — Nashville, Franklin, Brentwood, Belle Meade, Green Hills, Murfreesboro, Hendersonville, Mount Juliet, Gallatin, Lebanon, Smyrna, Spring Hill, Columbia, Clarksville, Cookeville, La Vergne, Nolensville, and Leiper's Fork.

Is Light TN based in Nashville?

Light TN is based in Burns, Tennessee, west of Nashville, and comes into each city for the work. Daryl Bentfield walks the property in person for the on-site assessment, so a design in Franklin, Brentwood, or on the Hendersonville lakefront is drawn on the actual lot rather than from an office.

Does Light TN charge to travel across Middle Tennessee?

Light TN includes the on-site design consultation at no charge across its Middle Tennessee service area. The studio is built to travel to the property — the walkthrough, the rendering, and the after-dark aiming all happen on location, whether that's in Davidson County or out toward Clarksville and Cookeville.

Can Light TN light a lakefront property?

Light TN designs lakefront lighting on Old Hickory and Percy Priest — in Hendersonville, Gallatin, Mount Juliet, Smyrna, and La Vergne — by keeping every beam off the water and lighting the descent to a dock with shielded step lights. The water stays dark while the grounds and the path read clearly.

Does Light TN work in historic districts and gated communities?

Light TN designs within Franklin's historic district, Belle Meade's deep-setback estates, and the gated communities of Brentwood and Gallatin, matching each area's standards. The studio coordinates gate access and community guidelines and uses the warm, shielded, low-output fixtures that historic and formal settings call for.

Will installation damage an established lawn anywhere in the region?

Light TN buries low-voltage cable with the L2 Line Layer, a trenchless machine and the only one of its kind in the Nashville market, so wire reaches a large or sloped Middle Tennessee lot without trenching. On the region's heavy clay, that keeps mature turf intact instead of cut and reseeded.

Which outdoor lighting services are available across these cities?

Light TN offers the same nine services in every city it serves: landscape lighting, architectural lighting, outdoor lighting design, permanent roofline lighting, outdoor audio, smart lighting systems, installation, commercial outdoor lighting, and trenchless wire burial — usually combined into one coordinated system for the property.

How do I start a project in my city?

Light TN starts every project with a free on-site consultation. Choose your city from the list above to see how the studio approaches properties there, or schedule a design consultation directly, and Daryl Bentfield will walk the property and outline an approach built for its architecture, grade, and landscape.

What To Expect

The first meeting is a walkthrough, wherever you are.

We look at the property together, talk through how you use the grounds after dark, and give you a rendering to react to before any commitment. The consultation is free.
