It changes how your home feels, how it photographs, and how it lives after dark. Light TN designs that result for homeowners across Nashville, Franklin, Brentwood, and Belle Meade, a family-owned studio led by Daryl Bentfield, who personally walks every property and designs every plan.

We are a lighting design studio, not a contractor pulling fixtures off a truck. We begin every project by studying the architecture, the landscape, and the character of the property. The result is lighting that feels intentional, warm, refined, and built to perform beautifully season after season.

The Craft

The difference between
installed & designed.

Most outdoor lighting is installed. A crew arrives, sets fixtures along the path and the beds, and turns the property bright. Designed lighting is a different craft.

We light in layers, so a property has depth instead of a single wash. We shield fixtures below your sightline, so you see the glow on a tree or a facade and never the source. We return after dark to aim every fixture by eye. The work disappears; only the effect remains.

A photorealistic rendering of your property at night, before a fixture goes in the ground. Changes happen on screen.

To licensed contractor CE-D: 76580 standards, using the trenchless L2 Line Layer where a trench would scar an established lawn.

Solid brass and copper, low-voltage LED, and a fixture failure rate under 1% a year, with lifetime warranties.

Light TN is a family-owned outdoor lighting design studio led by Daryl Bentfield, Principal Lighting Designer. We are a licensed Tennessee contractor (CE-D: 76580), but the work begins with design — the architecture, the landscape, and a rendering you approve before we install.

What areas does Light TN serve?

We design and install across Middle Tennessee, centered on Nashville, Franklin, Brentwood, Belle Meade, and Green Hills, with work throughout Davidson and Williamson Counties from our studio in Burns.

Will you show me the design before installing?

Yes. We render your property at night and walk you through it before a fixture goes in the ground, so every decision is made looking at your own home rather than a catalog.

Will installation tear up my established lawn?

No. Daryl buries low-voltage wire with the L2 Line Layer, a trenchless machine and the only one in the Nashville market, so cable goes in without trenching and mature turf and beds stay intact.

How long does a Light TN system last?

We use solid brass and copper fixtures with manufacturer lifetime warranties and an annual fixture failure rate under 1%. The installation carries a one-year workmanship warranty, and we design every system to be serviced and to age gracefully.
